Position Available: Industrial Pump Mechanic

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Disassemble, clean and inspect pumps and other mechanical equipment
• Generate repair workscopes and parts requirements for repairs
• Assemble pumps and other related mechanical equipment
• Standard mechanic tools required up to 1 inch
• Drive fork truck and operate all shop equipment
• Maintain shop tools and equipment
• Maintain a clean, safe shop and work area
• Follow all safety rules presented by Metro Pumps
• Follow and abide by customer safety rules when working at their locations
• Must be able to secure a TWIC
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and insurable status
• Load and unload trucks as required
• Must read and comprehend drawings and catalog cuts
• Use micrometers and machinist measuring tools as required
• Test assembled equipment
• Perform alignments on rotating equipment
• Troubleshoot issues in the field
• Apply coatings and paints to pumps and parts as required
• Working in and outside the service facility
• Pick up and deliver parts and pumps
• Receive items, check packing list against items actually received and provide paperwork to appropriate person
• Log time for tasks performed on each job
• Basic computer skills to complete tasks
• Participate in continuous training efforts
• Interact with suppliers, vendors, colleagues and customers maintaining professional poise

Experience:

• Must have 3 or more years of hands-on experience with pumps
• Industrial pump experience preferred
